The Big Idea, an industry wide innovation challenge, unveils the judges for its semi-final.
The Big Idea, a revolutionary innovation challenge, with a money can't buy prize have now unveiled the judges for the semi-final stage of its year-long process to promote innovation across Health, Safety and Wellbeing but also beyond in the infrastructure sector.
Drawn from a mix of consultants and contractors from across the sector our judges truly represent the forward thinking attitude which the competition embodies.
Our judges are:
Steve Crofts, HSEQ Director, Balfour Beatty
Stuart Pollard, HSES Director, Arcadis
Lizz Robinson, Operations Director, Mace
Andrew Cox, Health and Safety Director, FM Conway
Miles Boyd, Commercial Director, Highway Care.
Sven Till, Director, AE Yates.
David Greenberg, Managing Director, Eave.
Jim Dawson, Director, ATM.
The judges have been specifically chosen to truly represent our supply chain with a mix of tier 1 and 2 contractors, but also to include innovators who understand what it really takes to drive a specific product or idea and bring it to market.
Are you an SME or a tech start up with a ground-breaking product or idea but are finding it hard to gain traction within the industry? That’s where the Big Idea comes to the fore – we connect leaders and innovators with those who posess the skills to make a vision become a reality in an open, and honest environment where the only people who benefit are those, we put to work day on day. The only thing which entry to our Big Ideas programme will cost you is the time to fill out the form, and the prize at the end of this is sponsorship from one of four tier 1 contractors who deliver billions of pounds of work across our sector on an annual basis. Culminating in a live final on 29th September at the Innovation Campus, Birmingham, in front of a series of industry “Dragons” our final 6 will get the chance to pitch their innovative ideas to Tier 1 industry leaders, investors and those with the power to truly bring a product to market with view of getting sponsorship and support to help make ideas and visions a reality.
Our judges will preside over a live televised semi final taking place at the end of June where the ten best ideas will be invited to present their ideas.
That ten will then become six who will go forward to the live final on the date above.
Whilst every competition has winners and losers, the principal aim of the Big Idea is to shine a light on innovation and to give an opportunity of exposure for start ups and SME’s to those within the supply chain and really help them to get a foothold in the sector.
Entries are now open and close at the end of April with the shortlisted 6 invited to go forward to a live final where they will have the once in a lifetime opportunity to stake their claim for the ultimate prize.
