Solar Gates, the barrier, gate and traffic management pioneers are announcing they are bringing their knowhow to Irish shores and opening an Irish registered subsidiary and new Dublin Headquarters.
A significant milestone in the company expansion strategy and the first joint group venture, it comes just days after Solar Gates announced that it was joining MVIS and BARTCO in the THL (Torquay Holdings Ltd) family of brands. Neil Sampson, Solar Gates’ Managing Director, described the move as “a natural progression in our territory expansion”.
Niall O’Byrne, a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the traffic management sector, will take the helm as Country Manager for Solar Gates Ireland. Niall’s distinguished career within Traffic Management, VMS and traffic safety solutions spans many years and he will play a pivotal role in this exciting new development for Solar Gates in Ireland.
Neil explains: “We’ve already built many solid relationships with customers in Ireland and felt we can deliver more nimble customer service to them and future clients from a Dublin HQ. It means we can demonstrate our zero-carbon innovations in traffic management and worksite security to an even bigger audience. With Niall leading, I’m sure we will make a substantial and hugely positive impact to the Irish TM industry.”
Dubliner Niall said: “Leading the Irish Solar Gates team is an absolute privilege, especially as they are at the forefront of sustainable traffic management and barrier technology. Joining THL Group we are building a stronger foundation for success. This expansion will give operators in Ireland more of a hands-on look at Solar Gates’ cutting edge, sun-powered technology. It’s a much-needed shot in the arm that relevant industries in Ireland have been crying out for.”
To coincide with the Irish depot launch, Solar Gates will be showcasing its trailblazing products at ICE Expo 2025 on 23 and 24 May. Taking place at Punchestown Racecourse, Kildare, the inaugural show promises to highlight state-of-the art technology and equipment designed for the construction sector.
The Solar Gates team will be exhibiting its INSTABOOM and SOSEC products, alongside VMS and solar IP.
“ICE gives us a chance to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to innovation and sustainability”, Neil said. “Book your ticket and come say hello to us on Stand 115.”
