'It has affected businesses and staff getting to work'
Frustration over roadworks aimed at improving traffic flow in a Lancashire town is reaching boiling point.
While some see the works in Rawtenstall as short-term pain for long-term gain - others are bemoaning the lack of planned parking spaces while questions have also been asked about business rate relief.
The town's Chamber of Commerce recently called for better information around the work, accusing Lancashire County Council of poor communications, as the second phase began this month on St Mary's Way. The organisation has called for reviews of temporary traffic lights, to minimise any traffic delays and disruption to businesses.
Bosses there also want clarity on whether local firms will get relief on business rates during the works.
