Milestone Infrastructure has secured an £840m roads maintenance deal in Oxfordshire.
The Hertfordshire-headquartered firm will look after more than 4,800km of highways following a contract award announced on Friday (21 March).
The deal from Oxfordshire County Council will start on 1 April and run to 2033, with a possible extension for up to 14 further years.
Milestone will be responsible for routine maintenance of roads, footways and cycleways, plus a range of other assets such as barriers, verges, signs and trees.
Drainage systems, structures, fences, road markings, street furniture, and public rights of way fall under the deal as well.
The contractor will provide emergency response to incidents and carry out winter works such as snow clearance.
